Chocolate Miracle Bars
(Also known as Nanaimo Bars)

graham wafer crumbs |

coconut |
1/2 cup |

chopped nuts and/or cherries |
- Place softened butter, suga, cocoa, vanilla and egg in bowl
- Set bowl in dish of boiling water.
- Stir well until butter is melted and mixture resembles custard.
- Combine wafer crumbs, coconut and nuts/cherries and add to cooked mixture.
- Pack evenly into 9" square pan.
- Set aside to cool

milk |
2 tbsp |

vanilla custard powder |
2 cups |
500 ml |
icing sugar |
4 oz. |
113.5 grams |
chocolate squares (4 squares) |
1 tbsp |
15 ml |
butter |
- Cream butter and add milk which has been combined with custard powder.
- Blend in sifted icing sugar
- Spread over mixture above.
- Let stand 15 minutes to harden.
- Melt chocolate squares with 1 tbsp butter
- Spread over mixture.
- Let cool and cut into bars.
